Formed in 2013 in Dawson City and currently based out of the musically abundant community of Whitehorse, Yukon, The Naysayers are the band you didn’t know you needed but don’t want to live without. Each member is a seasoned musician, singer, and songwriter in their own right. They’ve come together to form a take-no-shit all-woman rock and folk band that is brutally honest and anti-establishment.
Drea Naysayer, a veteran songwriter and performer, is the group’s lead singer. She is complemented by Yukon’s own musical prodigy Selina Heyligers-Hare on lead guitar and vocals, 2020 Spotlight Breakout West Conference Artist Paris Pick on bass and vocals, and drummer Tara Martin hailing from Montreal and formerly signed to Warner Music Canada.
The Naysayers are a fearless, political, energetic and cross-genre group of musical underdogs who came together to play honest and perform until they bleed music. They have come swinging into the National music spotlight and recently signed with Rae Spoon’s Coax Records Canada and COAX Records E.U.
Naysayer plays on Drea Naysayer’s real last name, “Nasager,” which is Danish in origin and pronounced (Nah-say-er).
