STATEMENT FROM THE DAWSON CITY MUSIC FESTIVAL ASSOCIATION REGARDING THE THAW DI GRAS LIP SYNC EVENT
The Dawson City Music Festival Association (DCMF) is carefully monitoring the COVID-19 (coronavirus) situation. DCMF is observing updates released by health authorities in Yukon and by Health Canada, and is also working with colleagues in event production across the country.
As of this morning’s Government of Yukon briefing regarding COVID-19, there are no confirmed cases or community spread of the virus in the territory. The Chief Medical Officer of Health confirmed that the risk in Yukon remains low. Therefore, we are continuing with Lip Sync tomorrow (Friday, March 13th).
The health and safety of Lip Sync performers and audience members is our top priority. If you are presenting any flu-like symptoms, we ask that you please stay home and use this time to think about your act for next year’s event! If you have symptoms please call 811 to obtain medical advice.
For those attending, rest assured that Diamond Tooth Gerties is well-stocked with hand washing supplies, and hand sanitizer will also be available. We look forward to seeing you tomorrow for DCMF’s annual fun-filled fundraiser that enables our organization to offer programming for our community.
