Harmonica George and Annie Avery – Honouring the Blues/Jazz Standards

After playing for many years in different formats, Annie Avery and George McConkey discovered their shared love of blues and melodic jazz music. In 2012, Annie and George released Honouring The Blues, a CD honouring various styles of blues music produced by Bob Hamilton at Old Crow Recording Studio in Whitehorse.
Annie is an accomplished piano player, music teacher and singer who has performed for many years in the North. She is currently half of the performing duet Two Piano Tornado with Grant Simpson. George McConkey plays Harmonica primarily and is known around the North as Harmonica George. George was a founding member of the Juno- nominated band The Undertakin’ Daddies.
In the spring of 2021, Annie and George are booked to play at “Jazz In The Hall” in Whitehorse. George and Annie love entertaining enthusiastic audiences and are sure to bring the energy and excitement to create a memorable two nights of Blues and Jazz Standards to the KIAC Ballroom.
