Ukes of Hazard
Ukes of Hazard have been making music and stirring up the dance floors all across the Yukon with their unique brand of swingin’ pop-rock for the past four years. Lead singer and rabble-rouser Paris Pick hitchhiked to Whitehorse at the tender age of 18 and Ukes of Hazard were formed almost immediately after her timely arrival– it was truly meant to be. Ukes of Hazard now consists of pirate leader Paris Pick on electric ukulele, Aiden Tentrees on bass, Zacharie Pelland on guitar, Cain Rogan on saxophone, and Patrick Docherty on drums. This is DIY at its finest: from hand-drawn posters to the Whitehorse open mic circuit, to jam nights and busking on Main Street, the Ukes of Hazard ain’t afraid to working hard and pound that pavement. Speaking of – they’re about to embark on their first tour of B.C. this summer.
Ukes of Hazard have recorded a demo and their 2015 album Mine to Creep the band has performed at nearly every fine and festive Yukon event across the territory event and will bring their funky, jazzy, and latin-inspired tunes to the DCMF stage for the first time this summer. Their swashbuckling shanties, creative covers, and charming energy take over the stage with jolly enthusiasm. Get your boogie shoes on and get ready to groove to songs of love, friendship, and life in the mighty Yukon!
