Based in Whitehorse, Yukon, singer-songwriter Michael Brooks has been performing original children’s music for over 20 years. From Toronto’s Rogers Centre (Skydome) to the Dawson City Midnight Dome, Michael’s concerts are always fun for children as they become part of the show. The late Peter Gzowski, host of CBC’s Morningside, described him as a “Northern Canadian Children’s Superstar”. Few praises are higher, and Mr. Brooks deserves the accolades he receives.
Michael Brooks likes to keep busy and active with his music. He has performed more than 500 concerts in the past 10 years at music festivals, schools and libraries in the Yukon and across Canada, in addition to releasing several recordings and writing and producing music for television programs. Michael is an active community member and embodies a true Yukon spirit. Michael Brooks will be performing at DCMF Kid’s Fest this year, so be sure to bring the family down to the big tent for this fun, free afternoon event.
