After the Dawson City Music Festival Association's AGM, we invite you to take in a very special, one-time-only trio tour from two fast-rising Outside folk talents and one of the Yukon's best-known musical exports. The "Heart, Humour and Harmony" tour takes Beggs, Byrd and Raymond through tiny communities in the Yukon and NWT over three weeks in November.
A native of Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Jonathan Byrd is a preacher's son and a former choirboy. His music is ragged and wise, with the grit and truth of Steve Earle's best work. http://www.jonathanbyrd.com
Corin Raymond's new album is called "There Will Always Be A Small Time." Corin has the lyrical talent and personable stage presence of big-time folkies like Dan Mangan and Old Man Luedecke, but he prefers the small-time, the personal connection, the face-to-face storytelling. This talented lyricist has quickly become an institution on the Ontario and Canadian folk circuits. http://www.corinraymond.com
“Kim Beggs is the real deal”, says Now Magazine (NNNN). Her album Blue Bones was the iTunes Spotlight feature for Indie Singer Songwriter in August, while the Globe and Mail declared Maiden Heart (song from Blue Bones) an Essential Track. Blue Bones has been released in Canada, the US, Germany, the Netherlands and the UK. Beggs has shared the stage with Buffy St Marie, Stephen Fearing, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, Chris Jagger to highlight a few. http://www.kimbeggs.com
