Owen Pallet’s credits as a band member, arranger and violinist-for-hire reads like a who’s who of the Canadian indie scene: Cuff the Duke, Les Mouches, the Hidden Cameras, the Constantines, Royal City, Gentleman Reg, the Hylozoists, Arcade Fire… But it’s as the one-man symphony Final Fantasy that Owen is now best known, and for good reason: armed with nothing more that his violin and a loop pedal, he bows, picks, scrapes, sings and shouts his way to orchestral grandeur, constructing intricate tapestries of sound which draw equally from his classical background and his finely-honed pop sensibility.
