Boone Webb (ARK)

batinses

When these four boys from Arkansas rolled into town looking for a place to set up and busk for gas money to get them back home, they had no idea what they had gotten themselves into – and neither did we! Heading straight for the local whorehouse, as one does, the boys proceeded to produce an amazing array of acoustic instruments from the cramped and chaotic confi nes of an obviously well-traveled and not so well-lived in van, then gathered around a single mic and launched into a rambunctious set of all-original southern stompers that quickly put an end to any plans for a quick drink and a quiet evening at home. By the end of the night, tables had been pushed aside to make room for dancing, and the entire bar – from barely legal summer kids to well-seasoned caravaners to a motley assortment of locals – was stamping their feet and singing along. Another night, another bar, and the now electric – really, how did they ever get all that gear in there! – foursome take the stage for another sweaty night of singing and dancing ‘till the lights come up. Yet another night, now in a barn, and the dancing goes on until weary revelers are scrambling out the door to make it to work on time. Clearly, these boys needed to come back to get the dust fl ying under the big top! Ladies and gentlemen, we give you the brothers Jim & Jack Payton, Josh Wordlan, Rusty Mccrate, and, border guards willing, Mike Kaulkenberg.
