The deadline to apply to perform at the Dawson City Music Festival was January 31. If you would like to be considered for the 2009 festival, please send us an EPK or a good ol'fashioned press kit.
Don't forget to include: samples of your music, a brief bio, a small selection of review material if you've got some and any other relevant information about your style of music, history, past performances, etc.
We accept applications between September 1st and January 31st. If you are planning to apply to the Canada Council for a travel grant, remember that mail can take as much as a couple of weeks to get to Dawson City, so aim get your materials to us at least three weeks prior to the application deadline.
We strive to have a balanced line up that includes rock, folk, roots, country, and world music; we look for Canadian content; and we try to bring in as many new acts as we can (those who have not played here before). While on occasion we book foreign artists, our main focus is Canadian music. We are unable to pay for overseas travel and other associated costs.
We receive a ton of great material each year and, unfortunately, we have to say no far more often than we say yes. We will endeavour to contact via e-mail each artist for whom we receive a package but ask that you do not contact us after we have acknowledged receipt of your materials. We will contact you if we are interested in pursuing a booking. We keep all submissions on file for two years.
