Dawson City Music Festival DCMF 2020 Yukon July 17-19

COVID-19 Update: Festival on-track for July 17-19, 2020

March 18, 2020

Your friends in the north wanted to reach out in these unprecedented times. Hello from the Klondike, home of the Dawson City Music Festival. We want to reassure our friends and fans that the Festival is on track for July 17 – 19, 2020.

We are closely monitoring details surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic as the situation continues to evolve. We are heeding the recommendations of the Yukon Chief Medical Officer of Health, as well as the Government of Yukon and Health Canada. Our log cabin office is proving perfect for social distancing (speaking of which, please do not drop by we are closed to the public and you can reach us by phone and email).

Currently, we’re looking forward to hosting Festival fans under the midnight sun in gorgeous Dawson City, Yukon July 17 – 19, 2020. We cannot predict how the situation will unfold in the coming weeks and months – surely, the world will be (and already is) a different place. But we are hopeful and we are preparing. We look forward to sharing some sneak peeks from the 2020 lineup very soon.

Our top priority, as always, is the health and wellbeing of Festival-goers, performers, volunteers, and staff. We will remain up to date on recommendations from medical authorities and governments. We are committed to safety not only during the Festival but also within our community, and are taking necessary steps to plan accordingly as information about the effects of COVID-19 is made available. We will continue to make decisions and plan from a place of sincere responsibility, and will share any updates regarding the Festival as needed.  Please stay in touch with us via our Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram accounts.

We are moving forward with great optimism, enthusiasm, and dedication; a kind that’s present only in a community where it is normal to live without water or power, in isolation for six weeks of the year when the Yukon river is freezing, and where temperatures frequently dip below minus 40 throughout the winter. The festival has faced forest fires, summer floods, and many other challenges over the last forty years. This will certainly be one of them – we remain optimistic and devoted.

All our love from the Klondike.

Sincerely,

Dawson City Music Festival Staff & Board of Directors
