Bell Songwriting Challenge
We are thrilled to announce that we are again partnering with Music Yukon to present the Bell Songwriting Challenge! In past years, this has typically happened in a group setting during the music fest weekend. This year, however, we’re doing things a little differently.
We are seeking a Dawson-based aspiring musician or song creator to work with an established Yukon-based songwriter and producer to write and record two original tracks. DCMF will match the aspiring artist with a mentorship team suited to the mentee’s vision and needs. In addition to mentorship and recorded tracks, a $400 honorarium will be provided to the selected aspiring musician-songwriter.
This is a mentorship opportunity intended for an aspiring musician or song creator with no or very little previous recording experience, who has not successfully applied for music-based funding and is interested in building a career as a professional artist. These requirements are flexible, and we encourage anyone who feels they could benefit from this mentorship opportunity to apply here by September 12th.
The anticipated selection date for successful applicants is September 18th.
Finished and recorded songs, as well as a paragraph outlining your project and how it went, must be received by December 1st, 2020.
If there are any barriers to applying, comments or questions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, and we will help you proceed with your application.
