Dawson City Music Festival

Call for Committee Members

The Dawson City Music Festival Association (DCMF) is seeking volunteer committee members for our Songwriter in Residence program.

If you are passionate about music, interested in community events, and would like to be involved in selecting DCMF’s 2021 Songwriter in Residence, we’d love to hear from you!

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Since 2006, DCMF has proudly operated an annual Songwriter in Residence program with support from Klondike Institute of Art & Culture and North Klondyke Highway Music Society. The program brings a songwriter to Dawson City for a month-long stay each January, where they receive studio and living space. The artist is expected to spend time working on their craft, perform one public concert (subject to change due to COVID-19), and collaborate with the community by leading an outreach activity. Previous participants have deeply involved themselves with the local community and have found it to be an enriching, once-in-a-lifetime experience.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS MUST:

  • Express an interest in Canadian music and community events (no musical experience required)
  • Be willing and able to make the specified time and date commitments (see below)
  • Have access to internet and be able to work with Google Docs and Zoom (navigational assistance may be provided)
  • Have no real or perceived bias regarding any special interest group or particular artist while serving as Committee members
  • Consider the best interests of the entire community and the organization
